Product overview:
The silica insulation brick are light weight refractories with SiO2 content over 90% and volume density less than 1.2g/cm3. Silica insulation brick is made of crystalline quartzite as raw material, and add combustible material after batching, such as coke, anthracite, sawdust, or form porous structure with gas foaming method. It has similar production process of ordinary silicon brick, adding some mineralization agent (CaO, Fe2O3) to promote the conversion of quartz in batching process, taking pulp waste liquid as a binder to make the brick has a certain strength. When coke or anthracite is used as combustible additive for silica insulation brick, the iron scale is not needed to be added to the mixture because the ash content will bring into Fe2O3 and Al2O3. When the silica insulation brick is fired, the strong oxidation flame should be maintained below 1200℃ to make the added material completely burnt out.
The mineral composition is: tridymite 78%~86%, cristobalite 13%~15%, and quartz 4%~7%. The volume density of ordinary silica insulating bricks is 0.9~1.1g/cm3, the cold crush strength is 2.0~5.9MPa, and the thermal conductivity is 0.35~0.42W.(m.K). The silica insulation brick has excellent fireproof performance, the refractoriness under load is close to 1620℃ , only have a small residual expansion, and its thermal stability is better than that of the dense silica brick. Therefore, the silica insulation brick can be used for a long time without contact with slag under high temperature conditions (1500℃~1550℃), especially suitable for the insulating layer material of the silica lining of the high-temperature hot blast furnace and the insulating material of the silica brick masonry in the glass kiln.
Character:
Silica insulation brick has excellent fireproof performance, high refractoriness under load closing to 1620℃ , small residual expansion, and better thermal stability than silica brick.
